Captain Gerry was an interesting and educated host. I took my mom 96 years young. Gerry was all about the comfort and safety of his passengers... it was relaxing and something I reccomend to anyone who has never seen Traverse Bay from the water view. Gerry has an archive of intriguing stories if you want to hear them, he also would most likely offer you the chance to steer (intro to sailing) Captain Gery loves people and his pristine boat says alot about his character. Encountering excellence happens all too infrequently these days, but when you come aboard here you will recognize it right away, as Ger, your captain, effortlessly puts you at ease, covering safety protocols and "what ifs", as unlikely as they may be. But, for my wife, it worked like a charm because she had some definite reservations given the 20 knot winds. As it turned out, 15-20 knots were ideal for this sailboat and sailing captain. He expertly handled the whole boat himself and there was never any doubt about his capability. He clairvoyantly called out the wind gusts letting us know that the boat would heel over a bit more, allowing us to be ready, although there really was NO radical departure from the norm OR our enjoyment...ALL evening long. Which, by the way, I highly recommend the sunset cruise! Also, Ger (short for Gerry, I think), is a dynamic, super positive, wonderfully kind person who you'll very much enjoy spending a few hours with! And, if all of that weren't enough, his boat is in pristine condition, leaving no doubt that you are in very good hands! Enjoy!

Captain Gerry has a beautiful, clean, and smart Catalina 310. It was a joy to sail around West Grand Traverse Bay on a perfectly sunny and windy day. I spent an hour at the helm and learned a lot about sailing through Gerry's instructions and explanations. I highly recommend an afternoon aboard "Impulse".

My husband and I decided at the last minute to take the afternoon trip with Seaside Sailing Excursions and Charity Charters. We were not sorry! The trip went far beyond our expectations in every way imaginable! Captain Ger was incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable and willing to fit the trip to meet our level of comfort and interests. He was very patient with me as I played 20 questions with him. The charity aspect of his company convinced me to take the trip with him but the trip itself will bring us back again and again! Our group had an amazing time sailing with Captain Ger. He made us feel very comfortable during some rough waters that soon passed us by. When the sun came out and we were able to capture some gorgeous pictures on the water. I would highly recommend anyone to take a sailboat tour for a fun excursion! Captain Ger did not disappoint.
